EveryMatrix in Hot Water

The UK Gambling Commission has slammed down the gavel and removed the operating licence from EveryMatrix after becoming concerned with their customer interaction framework.

That’s a fancy way of saying ‘how they deal with customers’.

More specifically, this is about the way they handle potential problem gamblers. As a result, they can no longer offer remote casino and real betting services until told otherwise. This is with immediate effect.

This has come as a shock – and maybe also a wake up call – to those working in the gambling industry. The company are a respected software and platform provider working in both the B2C and B2B sector, not some cowboy operation.

How Does This Affect Bettors?

Jetbull LogoWell, it will either affect you greatly or not at all depending on where you bet.

If you are a customer of one of their sites such as Jetbull you will not be able to use your account anymore, although any ante post bets previously made will be honoured and you will still have access to any money in your account.

EveryMatrix are also still able to operate the B2B side of their operation, so they haven’t been shut down completely.

What Have They Done?

Jetbull SuspendedIt’s more a case of what they haven’t done.

The UKGC hasn’t specified anything in particular, it’s more a general feeling that EveryMatrix aren’t doing enough when it comes to problem gambling, although EveryMatrix are disputing this; their CEO, Ebbe Groes, has stated that they already have an effective system in place to deal with the issues raised, but this does highlight the fact that the UKGC are really starting to crack the whip in this department.

There is every possibility that the suspension will be lifted in due course, but this is all very bad news for EveryMatrix as it could dent the confidence of their customers and clients alike. No one wants to be associated with bad news.

Not only that, but they were supposed to be selling their flagship site, Jetbull, to a Swedish company called AMGO. If they are dissuaded by tainted goods this could cost EveryMatrix big.
