Shiny New Sportsbook for Videoslots

They are known as one of the biggest online casinos on the internet with over 3,600 games, hosting seemingly every slot that has ever been released; but now, Videoslots are expanding into the other side of online gambling; sports betting.

They are certainly well placed to do so, having been a very popular destination for millions of slots fans (and therefore potential sportsbook customers) around the world since 2011.

With a lot of the foundations already in place and existing relationships with payment providers and the like, VideoSlots are much more likely to make a go of this than most startup sportsbooks.

Tell Me More

Betradar LogoGladly.

The slotting giant has entered into a partnership with multi-award winning Betradar to help them provide a top class service while still being masters of their own destiny. They will be using Betradar’s Integrated Trading Solutions (ITS – trading and risk management services) but maintaining their own trading strategy.

Or, as the managing director of Betradar, Paolo Personeni said:

“Videoslots will benefit from our leading risk management expertise while still having full access, visibility and transparency across their entire sportsbook functionality. The partnership will see our traders work collaboratively with their trading team to maximize efficiencies and help deliver solid margins and returns for a healthy sportsbook.”

Ex GVC employee Martin Calleja has come on board to oversee the sportsbook at Videoslot’s end, which will have a soft launch in the first quarter of next year, so expect to be able to try it out early in 2020.

Martin had this to say:

“The sports betting market is bigger than ever, and we can’t wait to get started. With Betradar’s support, we aim to build a tailor-made and diverse product for our customers.”

Both sides seem delighted with the arrangement, but these are troubling times for many online bookies, so could this be just another company spreading an overstretched market even thinner?

A Recipe for Success?

Sports DataGiven Videoslots experience and resources, I would expect this to be a successful venture. Yes, a lot of online books have been folding recently – see this article on poor old Mustardbet for an example – but they are small fry bookmakers compared to Videoslots.

Not only that, but they have some fearsome support in their corner with Betradar. The Switzerland based company is a specialist in sports betting data and has been in operation for almost 20 years – safe to say then that they know their business well.

A lot will depend on the product itself, but assuming it is good – and given their casino site there is absolutely no reason to believe that it won’t be – then I can see Videoslots hoovering customers up from some smaller already struggling bookies as well as tempting others that already use their gaming products away from their go-to sportsbooks.

Interesting times ahead!
